Kyle Hasson in Papakura

From hospitality to helping families

Before financial advice, I spent around ten years in hospitality in the UK, Switzerland, Qatar and New Zealand. I loved working with people, and I learned a lot about looking after them.

Then something happened in my own family that showed me how much the right protection and planning matter when life takes a turn. I wanted to do work that genuinely helps people at those moments, so I retrained and became a financial adviser in 2025.

I like numbers, and I like people. This job lets me use both.

How I work

  • Honest first. If you don't need something, I'll say so, even if I earn nothing from it.
  • Plain English. No jargon. You'll understand what you're getting and why.
  • Fits your budget. Good cover you can keep paying for beats perfect cover you cancel in a year.
  • Here for the long run. I check in as your family, income and mortgage change.

Qualifications and registration

I hold the Level 5 New Zealand Certificate in Financial Services, covering investments, residential lending, and life, health and disability insurance. I'm registered on the Financial Service Providers Register as FSP1010252.

Where I work

I'm the Insurance and KiwiSaver Adviser at Moneyplant Financial Services in Papakura, a licensed financial advice provider (FSP1005259). I meet families at our office at 118 Great South Road, at home across South Auckland, or online anywhere in New Zealand. For home loans, the Moneyplant mortgage team can help.
