This website is run by Kyle Hasson, a financial adviser with Moneyplant Financial Services Ltd. Moneyplant complies with the Privacy Act 2020 when handling personal information. This policy explains how your information is collected, used, shared and protected. It doesn't limit your rights under the Act.

When you use the contact form, your details are sent through our website host, Netlify, and stored securely so I can reply. Netlify's servers may be outside New Zealand. What personal information is

Personal information is information about an identifiable person. It can include your name, contact details, date of birth, job, financial details, health information needed for insurance, feedback, and in some cases evidence of source of funds.

How we use it

  • to verify your identity
  • to provide advice, services and products to you
  • to tell you about our services, including by phone, text or email
  • to improve our services
  • to respond to you, including any complaint
  • to protect our legal rights
  • for any other purpose you authorise or the Act allows

Use of artificial intelligence

We use some AI tools to work more efficiently. Your adviser is always responsible for your advice, and a person checks everything before it's used.

With your agreement, we may use AI to take notes and summarise meetings with you. We also use it to help draft emails, file notes and parts of your Statement of Advice, to summarise product information, and to check our writing is clear. AI doesn't make recommendations or decisions about you, and it doesn't decide whether you're accepted for insurance. We never sell your information or share it with AI providers for their own marketing.

We'll always ask before using an AI note-taker in a meeting. You can say no, and we'll take notes manually with no effect on your service.

Who we may share it with

  • companies that help us provide our services, such as hosting, data storage, specialist consultants and legal advisers
  • product providers, such as insurers and KiwiSaver providers
  • people who carry out compliance reviews and audits on our behalf
  • identity verification services, which may include the Department of Internal Affairs and NZ Transport Agency
  • courts, tribunals and regulators, such as the Financial Markets Authority
  • the Privacy Commissioner, Ombudsman or Human Rights Commission where a complaint relates to them, and CERT NZ to help manage a privacy breach
  • anyone else you authorise

Otherwise, we won't share your information without your consent unless the law requires it.

Keeping it safe

We take reasonable steps to protect your information from loss and misuse. Our software is regularly audited, and data is encrypted in transit and in storage. We only keep information for as long as we lawfully need it. Some information may be held at our office at 118 Great South Road, Papakura.

Storage outside New Zealand

We may use cloud storage and AI tools with servers outside New Zealand, and may share information with overseas service providers for the purposes above.

Accessing and correcting your information

You can ask to see the information we hold about you and ask us to correct it. Email loans@moneyplant.co.nz with proof of identity and the details of your request.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy by publishing a new version on this website. Changes apply from the date they're published.
